Second Round Of Recovery And Reinvestment Contracts Advertised For DOH April Bidding

CHARLESTON - A slide repair in Raleigh County and five resurfacing projects totaling 11.59 miles are among the second round of Reinvestment and Recovery contracts to be advertised for upcoming Division of Highways bid openings April 2, according to Secretary of Transportation Paul Mattox.

“As we move forward with advertising round two of our stimulus funds, we continue to be prudent and responsible with a focus on job creation and job retention,” Mattox said.  “The public will begin to see projects being advertised and awarded on a regular basis and will start to see the positive effects of the Recovery Plan.”

To be bid in April, A Raleigh County contract calls for slide repairs with pilings along Metalton Road, .4 miles east of County 3/27 on WV 3.
Resurfacing contracts to be bid April 2 call for the following:

  • BOONE
    • 1.67 miles Peytona to Racine from Big Coal River Road Bridge to WV 94 along WV 3
  • GREENBRIER
    • 1.50 miles Harts Run Road, between Howards Creek Bridge (milepost 174.61) and Airport Bridge (milepost 176.11) along I-64
    • 1.00 miles Alta Road beginning .32 miles west of US 60 and ending .68 miles east of US 60 along I-64
  • MCDOWELL
    • 2.00 miles Ieager Road in Beartown, junction of County 5/5 to .33 miles south of junction of County 5/3, along WV 80
  • WAYNE
    • 5.42 miles WV 75 to Whites Creek Road, junction of WV 75 to County 19, along US 52
