Round Three of Recovery and Reinvestment Contracts Set to be Advertised for April DOH Bidding

CHARLESTON—Over 22 miles of resurfacing contracts are being advertised during the third round of Recovery and Reinvestment contracts to be opened during the April 16 bid letting according to Secretary of Transportation Paul Mattox.

“The West Virginia Division of Highways continues to demonstrate their commitment to spend the ARRA funds responsibly,” Mattox said.  “With asphalt plants beginning to open, the public will see more of the Recovery funds spent on resurfacing contracts as we take advantage of a full paving season.” 

Resurfacing contracts call for the following:

  • CABELL
    1.56 miles Milton to County 60/19 from County 13 ramp to County 60/19 along I-64
  • FAYETTE
    1.24 miles Page Road in Kincaid beginning .02 miles south of County 61/12 and ending .02 miles north of County 61/1 along WV 61
  • KANAWHA
    5.52 miles Marmet to Hernshaw beginning at the junction of County 119/26  and ending at the junction of County 119/64 along WV 94
  • LEWIS
    1.89 miles Weston Road in Ben Dale, .29 miles south of County 19/3 to .49 miles north of County 24 along US 19
  • MARSHALL
    5.44 miles McMechan to Wheeling Road, 1.92 miles north of junction WV 86 to .34 miles south of junction I-470 in Ohio along US 250
  • MERCER
    1.50 miles Lorton Lick Road in Pinnacle Rock, 1.5 miles south of junction of County 20/5 to junction of WV 71 along US 52
  • MONROE
    2.34 miles North Peterstown Road beginning .02 miles south of County 219/23 and ending .92 miles north of County 219/24 along US 219
  • NICHOLAS
    1.29 miles Deer Creek Road, .40 miles east of County 39/5 to .02 miles east of County 39/6 along WV 39
  • ROANE
    4.51 miles Wallback Road in Amma, between County 29 and WV 36 along I-79
  • WAYNE
    2.29 miles Stonecoal Road to Mingo County line along US 52
  • OHIO
    14 mile section Wheeling to Valley Grove, beginning at the junction of Ohio state line and ending at the Pennsylvania state line where 4 Bridges will have approach slabs replaced and various spot pavement repairs along I-70
