I can't express enough how much the RA JAG funds positively impacted the Harrison County Child
Advocacy Center (via the Harrison County Commission)! We were able to hire a Family Advocate to work with both sexually abused children (primary victims) and their protecting caregivers (secondary victims) to ensure healing and justice for the families. This is the first time child victims of sexual abuse in Harrison County have had a consistent advocate from the day they report the abuse to the final day of court. One parent thanked our Family Advocate for being "the one constant in the turmoil of events that followed my child disclosing abuse." Other parents have had nothing but gratitude for the help and support the Child Advocacy Center was able to provide as they dealt with their own emotions while also ensuring a healthy environment for their child to begin the healing process. The past few years have been tough economically and we would not have been able to make this service available without the RA JAG funds. Thank you!!
